Véronique Serret’s forthcoming album, Prima Volta

Corella Recordings is very proud to announce the upcoming release of Véronique Serret’s Prima Volta.

One of Australia’s most creative and masterful violinists, Véronique Serret explores a new world of texture and tone in her album Prima Volta.  Four new works written specifically for Véronique’s 6-string electronic violin and effects pedal setup explore haunting otherworldly ambiences, hypnotic loops, and barrages of aggressive distortion. The diverse compositions are brought to life with Véronique’s inimitable execution, which provides the through-line for a wild journey.

William Barton appears on Didgeridoo throughout the record, contributing to the immersive and beautiful soundworld of Prima Volta.

The story of Prima Volta began in 2015 as part of a residency at Campbelltown arts centre. Composers E.B. Kerr, Ivana Radovanovic, David Reaston, and Chris Perren, contributed bespoke compositions for Véronique’s unusual instrument and technical setup. Incubated through this residency and refined through years of performance, Véronique has made them her own.

Véronique Serret performs October Morning by Ivana Radovanovic, featured on upcoming album “Prima Volta” at Phoenix Central Park.

Prima Volta is unlike any other violin album. Hear it from September 2022 via Corella Recordings.
