Durriwiyn - Fade Away
Format: Single
Release date: May 16, 2024
Coming off the back of great success with last year’s single “Little Bird”, we are very excited to announce the release of “Fade Away”, a brand new single with a soon to be released accompanying music video. Continuing with Durriwiyn’s signature style of dark dramatic pop, this track tells a personal story, contrasting intimate vocal moments with bursts of hard-edged beats.
This song represents the most vulnerable aspect of my sense of self, engaging in a deep and personal conflict between two opposing mindsets: the optimistic and hopeful voice, and the defeated cry for help.
- Durriwiyn
Durriwiyn hopes that this song captures the pure emotion of hiding and of choosing someone else over yourself — even though it's what makes you feel the most hopeless.
Lyrics
Once upon a time I didn’t love myself
But as I broke free from the pain I prevailed
Not long ago I wish I weren’t myself
And now I’m on the way to a better life in good health
Comfort in objects escaping complex in my mind
I know that this is my last chance to say my goodbyes
Old times they fade, and memories degrade
Once upon a time I chose someone else
I let go of my soul to hide in a suffocating cell
Not long ago I cried out for help
But I sunk deeper never to make a move or a sound
Comfort in objects and escaping complex in my mind
I know that this is my last chance to say my goodbyes
Old times they fade, and memories degrade
Old times they fade, and memories degrade
The story ends here I've got my world
And I never wanna go back I'm happy with myself
